Listening to podcasts and audio books is a relatively new concept for me but I find it really useful whilst driving or if my eyes are too tired in the evening for example.
Below are two audio books I’ve loved and want to share with you;
The first one I ever downloaded was The Chimp Paradox by Professor Steve Peters
Do you sometimes behave irrationally or impulsively?
Do you face some situations with fear and trepidation?
Do feelings of self-doubt consume everyday activities?
Leading consultant psychiatrist Steve Peters knows more than anyone how impulsive behaviour or nagging self-doubt can impact negatively on our professional and personal lives. In this, his first book, Steve shares his phenomenally successful mind-management programme that has been used to help elite athletes and senior managers alike to conquer their fears and operate with greater control, focus and confidence.
Seemingly complex concepts are made simple with the use of memorable analogies – such as the ‘chimp’, that seemingly irrational and impulsive being that inhabits our minds – and real-life case studies. Never before will you have had such a deep and clear understanding of your own behaviour and natural responses to certain people or situations. This knowledge, combined with simple techniques that can be easily incorporated into daily life, will help you to control your emotional impulses and reach your full potential.

The second is You Are A Badass by Jen Sincero.
I listened to this in the car when I journeyed back and forth to a number of interviews I had earlier in the year. It was amazing the effect it had on my confidence, especially as it was at an all time low at that point.
In this refreshingly entertaining how-to guide, best-selling author and world-travelling success coach Jen Sincero serves up 27 bite-size chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, sage advice, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word, helping you to:
- Identify and change the self-sabotaging beliefs and behaviours that stop you from getting what you want.
- Create a life you totally love. And create it now.
- Make some damn money already. The kind you’ve never made before.
By the end of You Are a Badass, you’ll understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can’t change, how to change what you don’t love and how to use The Force to kick some serious ass.
